Pymmes Green Road
Housing Development
The
brief was to design four houses with a total area of 1200sqm. This
posed significant design problems as the gardens on one of the longest
boundaries were at a lower level hence causing potential problems of
overlooking and shadows.
The
solution was to build an 'upside down ' house with the living
accommodation on the ground floor and the bedrooms located on the
lower ground. The design of the pitched roof was a direct response to
overcoming the physical limitations and the careful consideration of a
dynamic interior space for the living area.
Location: The site is located behind residential properties and
surrounded by neighbouring gardens. The land originally accommodated
garages but has been purchased as a separate plot for development.
